In the heart of London, Grade II-listed 8 Northumberland Avenue is the perfect place for your conference, wedding, Christmas party or dinner. A few steps from Trafalgar Square – the capital’s official centre – London’s most central venue offers a host of versatile spaces, an excellent events team and superb transport links.

Our beautiful event spaces boast cutting-edge technology and facilities for any number of guests, from 2 to 1,000. With our events team on side, you simply need to choose your perfect space – The Ballroom, The Old Billiard Room & Annex, our versatile Meetings Rooms or, for a really big event, the entire venue.

A short history…

The Percy family, the Dukes of Northumberland, built their family seat – Northumberland House – at the beginning of the 17th century. Some considerable size, the entire estate was bought in 1874 by the Metropolitan Board of Works and Northumberland Avenue was created. In 1887, the Hotel Victoria was built at number 8 – a first-class hotel that operated right up until the 1940s, when it was requisitioned by the War Office and occupied by the Crown. The doors of 8 Northumberland Avenue remained closed to the public for 70 years. In 2009, a near-derelict building was inherited from the Ministry Of Defence. It took a year of major refurbishment to restore the building to its former grand Victorian style.

The multi-million pound restoration was completed on time and on budget. The doors of 8 Northumberland Avenue were once again open to the public in the spring of 2010.

We can accommodate stands in both spaces, the Ballroom can hold up to 33 stands (8ft by 6ft) with a max of 300 guests standing, the Old Billiard Room can hold 20 stands (8ft by 6ft) with 200 guests standing and the Old Billiard Room and Annex together can hold 28 stands with 300 standing.
