The Northbank BID invites you to take part in our annual Charity Gift Drop by buying a gift for someone less fortunate this Christmas. This year you can support The Bridge at The Connection @ St Martins and Social Bite by buying a gift and dropping it off at one of our gift drop boxes.
The Connection at St Martin’s works with people who are rough sleeping to move away from, and stay off, the streets of London. We’re alongside people as they recover from life on the streets and move towards a meaningful, fulfilling future. With practical support, we help lift the pressures that push people into rough sleeping.
Founded by Josh Littlejohn MBE and Alice Thompson, Social Bite began life as a small cafe in Edinburgh, Scotland, in August 2012. We became involved in the homelessness issue when a young homeless man named Peter came into the cafe one day to ask us for a job. When we offered this young man employment, this was the origin of an unexpected 9 years of charitable work and campaigning on the homelessness issue.
Social Bite will be opening a new Cafe on Strand in the new year and will be hosting their very own 30Ft Giving Christmas Tree outside Charing Cross Overground Station this Christmas.
