Low Waste Living Workshop: Clothes mending
Did you know that the fast fashion industry is the second largest polluter in the world? Would you like to be able to extend the life of your clothes by learning how to repair them? Learn valuable mending and basic sewing skills that you need to fix your clothes, save money and be kind to the planet.
Come join us for some mindful crafting and chat about sustainable living. All levels of experience welcome and tools and materials provided. Feel free to bring clothes that need mending and we can advise on how best to fix them.
What you will learn:
- Mend small holes and seams
- How to sew a button on
- Hemming
- Basic hand stitching
- Visible mending and darning (for advanced sewers)
The BID is offering this FREE of charge to make the Northbank a better place to be and work and the activity will take about 1 hour.
