Breaking Boundaries in STEAM: Panel Discussion

Welcome to the Northbank BID discussion on Breaking Boundaries in STEAM.

 

Are you thinking about entering one of the STEAM industries? Do you want to know about the challenges of being a female engineer, what it takes to enter the fashion business, or how you can prepare yourself for starting your career in data?

 

The Northbank Business Improvement District in collaboration with Westminster Council invites you to attend a panel discussion that will take you on a journey through the unique trajectories of a range of STEAM professionals. The event will have a number of young people from Westminster in attendance so please do network with them if you are already in one of the fields. Panellists include:

Apoorva Patil – Cloud Software Engineer at IBM and Stemettes alumna

Hillary McCrae – Founder of multi-media platform fashionbytes

Kirsty Latoya – Illustator, KirzArt

Rachel Keane – Co-founder of Women In Data UK

Wendy Robertson – Head of Fleet Infrastructure, Govia Thameslink Railway

Aim:

Westminster Council delivers Westminster STEAM Week each year as part of British Science Week. Working with the business community we support young people to raise aspiration, develop an appetite for success, broaden their horizons and explore the world of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics.

The BID is offering this FREE of charge to make the Northbank a better place to be and work. We anticipate high volumes of interest for this panel discussion, registration is essential.
