Located in the heart of Central London’s theatre-land, Christopher’s Covent Garden is a timeless martini bar and American restaurant. Housed in an ornate Grade II listed building overlooking Waterloo Bridge, the interior sprawls across three stylish floors: a high-ceilinged dining room reached by a sweeping staircase, ground floor art-deco martini bar and underground Club Room.
Overseeing the modern American menu is Francis Agyepong, who has been a loyal member of the Christopher’s team for 25 years. Starters on the main menu include dishes such as Seared Orkney Scallops with Sweet Potato Puree, Chickpea Popcorn, Chorizo, while the Raw Bar, with choices such as Sea Bass Ceviche and zesty Tuna Tartare, takes a more contemporary twist. Christopher’s USDA Prime Steaks are aged for a minimum of 30 days from Black Angus Cattle bred at Creekstone Farm in Kansas, and steaks come individually grilled to taste, or as a tasting selection.
Other highlights from the main menu include the Missouri-rubbed Rack of Lamb with Minted Pea Purée & Butternut Squash Galette, and Maine Lobster with Garlic Butter or Mango Chilli Salsa. Desserts, which come either individually or as part of a Sharing Dessert Plate, include a Pecan Maple Pie, served with Salted Caramel Ice Cream, and Peach Melba with Amaretto Poached Peaches.
Alongside their Á La Carte, Christopher’s offer a Theatre Menu, which lends itself perfectly for theatre dining. Priced at £22.50/£26.50 for 2/3 courses, the menu offers dishes such as their American classic Cod & Shrimp Cake, Barbecue-rubbed Herford Sirloin Steak, and for those with a sweet tooth, a Chocolate, Peanut Butter and Caramel Tart.
As well as traditional American brunch offerings such as Eggs Benedict, Buttermilk Pancakes and the insta-famous Chocolate Brioche French Toast, health bunnies are treated to a Superfood Brunch option, available on weekends 11.30am-3.30pm. Smoothies and Raw Juices such as Citrus Beet Cleanser (Beets, Chard, Coconut Water, Oranges & Lemon) and Early Chocolate Shot (Almond Milk, Raw Cacao, Peanut Butter) make a virtuous start, followed by dishes such as Warm Kale & Butternut Squash Salad, Avocado & Tomato Toast, and Buckwheat Pancakes.
Downstairs in the stunning art-deco inspired Martini bar, cocktail-lovers can choose from an extensive menu. Traditional concoctions such as the Dirty Martini can be found on the Classic Martini menu, or for those feeling more adventurous, the Contemporary menu features options such as the Elderberry Martini or the Almond Cigar. For a touch of indulgence, Decadent Martinis include the Apple Pie Martini and the Chilli, Ginger & Chocolate Martini.
In addition to martinis, a wide range of classic American cocktails such as the Old Fashioned and Manhattan accompany a choice of classic, contemporary and champagne cocktails. Drinks are served with US inspired bar snacks such as Popcorn Shrimp and Tuna Tacos.
Tailor-made for private events, the chic downstairs Club Room has touches of 1930s inspiration in its design. The self-contained private dining room with its own private bar is an ideal space for exclusive parties and private dinners. With Wi-Fi and audio-visual facilities, it also makes a great choice for business meetings and corporate presentations. Bespoke menus for The Club Room are available upon request, from canapés to set menus for up to 80 standing or 40 seated guests.

Christopher’s Club Room serves as an exclusive retreat to host anything from sit-down lunches and dinners, to private drinks parties, launch events and corporate presentations throughout the day. Completely self-contained, equipped with audio-visual facilities and wifi, and with its own bar and tailored menus available, the flexible space is suited to all private occasions. The Club Room can accommodate up to 40 seated and up to 90 for standing events. There is no room hire charge and a bespoke menu is offered so guests are not limited to having the same dishes.
